Rijeka is located in the Kvarner Bay and is one of the most important ports in Croatia. Beaches can be found to the left and right of the city, as the port itself is rather industrial. The city is particularly interesting among holidaymakers as a starting point, since it is relatively easy to get there by car. It takes about 4 hours to drive from the Austrian border in Salzburg to Rijeka. In addition, the Kvarner Bay is well protected from wind and waves.
The entire Kvarner region was a popular vacation destination as early as the 19th century, resulting in many hotels and large vacation homes. The region also enjoys a lot of health tourism. The Mediterranean climate is ideal for this!
Not only the countless bays, but also the island world in front of Rijeka inspires many thousands of tourists every year. The islands of Cres, Krk, Rab and Losinj could not be more diverse. Especially Krk and Cres have many campsites and sheltered bays. All major islands are populated and have a good infrastructure. Whether medical, or for shopping - you will find good opportunities everywhere. There is also no lack of restaurants and bars.
Directly in the marina in Rijeka you will find a supermarket. There you can shop between 07:00 and 21:00. The daily needs are secured by the stores within the marina and you do not have to bring all the food from home. There is also a fruit and vegetable market nearby.
Before you bring your yacht back, you should refuel it as usual. The nearest gas station can be found in Opatija (about 5km) west of Rijeka. Alternatively, there are other gas stations on Krk, Cres and in Crkvenica.
You can park your car directly in the marina. The costs are about 11,- € / day.
If you arrive by plane, we would ask you to let us know in time. Because then we can organize the transfer from the airport 30km away.
